A de Montfort Housing Society 15-storey high-rise block of flats, part of the Waterloo Housing Group, has gained initial savings of over £10,000 since investing in an LED lighting refit.
Working in conjunction with West Midlands LED technology specialists IQ LED, we provided an initial payback calculation proposal followed by an energy-efficient installation of 613 light fittings.
The project will make an estimated total energy saving of over £211,000 over the anticipated lifespan of the products. The initial five-year total savings have been calculated at over £161, 345.
The install took around four weeks to complete and all communal areas were fitted including corridors, stairwells and tenant facilities such as the laundrette.
The projected annual return on investment is a whopping average of 40%, equating to over £44,000 per year, with an annual carbon saving of almost 135,097 in KgC02e.
The payback benefits were so good that a complete new emergency lighting package was added to the project installation, which greatly improved the lighting levels for all emergency escape routes.
The 613 existing light fittings were replaced with energy efficient 38W LED Flat Panels, 12W LED stairwell fittings and a combination of LED tube technology. A full five-year warranty on both the products and installation, securing Waterloo Housing Group a complete five-year maintained package.
In conjunction with lighting manufacturers and electrical contractors, we can offer an optional full finance agreement (subject to terms and conditions) and a warranty of up to five years on all LED products.
