THE PROBLEM WITH CEILING-MOUNTED DETECTION

Most electrical fires start inside the enclosure. Heat builds at the source inside the consumer unit, inside the distribution board, before smoke reaches a detector mounted on the ceiling. By the time a conventional alarm responds, the fire has already had time to develop.

The LFE10G is designed specifically for that gap. It monitors temperature from inside the enclosure, not from a metre above it. When the internal temperature reaches 170°C, it activates automatically and releases a fire-extinguishing aerosol that suppresses the fire at source. There’s no control panel connection required or manual trigger. The device handles it independently.

HOW IT WORKS

The LFE10G mounts directly onto a 35mm DIN rail inside the enclosure. Installation is straightforward: it fits where the risk is, inside the board, without requiring additional panel connections or commissioning.

On activation, the device releases a thermosolv aerosol. The aerosol works through a combination of physical and chemical action: metal salt particles absorb heat to lower the flame temperature, while the gas phase suppresses combustion free radicals and reduces oxygen concentration. The result is rapid suppression and prevention of fire spread within the protected space.

Protected space is up to 0.4m³, covering standard domestic and small commercial consumer unit installations. The aerosol disperses fully within the enclosure, reaching corners and cable runs that a direct-spray suppression method would not.
