Now You Can Purchase Wireless Chargers Built Into the Wall Socket

Clients want wireless charging. It comes up in residential builds, commercial fit-outs, hospitality projects, and office refurbishments. Until now, the practical answer has been a USB socket, functional, but it still needs a cable. Magcharge removes the cable entirely.

Billed as the world’s first magnetic charger socket, Magcharge uses Qi2 technology to deliver wireless charging directly from a standard wall outlet. It’s now available to order at G2.

WHAT MAGCHARGE IS

Magcharge is a wall socket with Qi2 wireless charging built in. Attach a compatible smartphone magnetically to the face of the socket and it charges, no cable, no adaptor, no USB port. The magnetic alignment is the same technology used in iPhone MagSafe, which means the connection is secure, efficient, and consistent.

Charging output is up to 15W. Compatibility covers iPhone MagSafe (12 and newer), Google Pixel 10, and a wide range of Qi2-enabled devices. Safety features include temperature control, overvoltage protection, and object detection.

There is no USB port on the socket. That is by design, it eliminates cables being left plugged in, adaptors going missing, and any cyber security vulnerability associated with USB charging in public or shared spaces.

INSTALLATION

Magcharge fits a standard 25mm back box and swaps directly with any 1- or 2-gang socket. No special back box. No new wiring. The installation is a straightforward swap, which keeps labour time down and makes it a practical option to include in a refurbishment spec without significant additional cost.

It is available in multiple finishes as part of CED Group’s complete decorative wiring range, so it can be matched to the surrounding accessories.

WHERE TO SPECIFY IT

Magcharge suits any space where people regularly charge smartphones and a clean, cable-free result is preferable to a trailing cable.

Residential bedrooms and kitchens are the obvious starting point — the nightstand and kitchen counter are exactly the locations the product is designed for. Hotels and serviced apartments benefit from the same logic, with the added advantage that there is nothing for guests to borrow or leave behind. Offices, meeting rooms, and reception areas are also strong candidates, particularly where a professional finish matters and USB charging cables create clutter.
