Working with contractor Paul Ray Electrical Services, G2 Electrical undertook an ambitious lighting retrofit for Arkrite Fencing in Bridgetown. The purpose of the project was to improve the lighting efficiency and luminescence in a bid to reduce long-term energy costs.
G2 Electrical supplied 24x 8′ tubes with Samsung LED chips, which hold a 5-year warrantee and 5 x low bay corn lamps, with built in cooling fans, which hold a 3-year warrantee.
The new fittings altered the colour temperature from around 2700k to a greater natural daylight colour of 4500k. The change resulted in better light in the work bays when fabricating the steel fencing components, improving the working environment for employees and overall productivity levels.
The whole project incurred a cost of £2335. The projected savings in electricity and maintenance costs over a 5-year period, after the product and labour costs have been removed, is a whopping £4346. An encouraging result with current economic constraints and rising commercial and living costs.
As an added bonus, and doing their bit for the environment in reducing their carbon footprint, Arkrite Fencing will have reduced their carbon emissions by 3905 kgCo2.
